51 Chevy 292 engine swap help

I am planning on putting a 292 in my 1951 Chevy business coupe but I haven't been able to find any information on this. I have found info on 235, 261, and GMC 302 engine swaps but nothing on a 292. Any information would be greatly appreciated!! I have already looked at the usual places (stovebolt, inliners).
Thanks!
Greg

if you really want to use the 292. get some V8 conversion mounts ( Speedway has them ) and you should be able to make them fit the 292 by drilling new holes.. 292 is a bit tall, if you have both the 292 and the original 216/235 ( 235 if it is a powerglide car ). measure from the oil pan rail to the top of the carb on both engines, then measure from the engine mounting bolt holes to the oil pan rail, subtract the diffrence to see how much higher the 292 will sit...

you will also need a 12v conversion, transmission and rear end to do that conversion, unless you have the powerglide as then you can get the factory V8 adaptor ring to hook the 292 to the original powerglide

Aren't the later I6 motors also a bit longer than the 216/235? I seem to remember that there's an aftermarket water pump for the later sixes that gets the length back closer to that of the earlier motors.

that's for when your putting in a 235 in place of a 216.. otherwise you would need to machine a waterpump to work.. you use simple water pump adaptors for the pre '55 235 and a special waterpump or a machined/ modefied pump for post '55 235. the mounting bosses changed..

250/292 is not a common swap in the cars, but many of the trucks have been converted
