Post 51 Chevy front end

I was thinking about using the frame, front end,
and rearend from a 1990 GMC pickup under my 1951 CHEVY. Would this work, or should I just install a new Mustang II clip and rearend suspension?

Keep the stock frame and install the front x-member form a 70s Chevy 1/2ton. Gets you modern coil springs, power steering, sway bar, the works. Very easy to install - weld two 1/2" plate spacers on the sides of the frame, drill and tap 4 holes/side then bolt it in. I have a scanned article on the installation if you send me your email address, I'll send it to you.

Willys36, I have looked at your pictures of the late model front end change over and yes it looks very good. Thanks for the help. I was just wondering if anyone elsa has anything to say about this change over? Do you have to change the rotors to get the right bolt patten for a nova rear end? Do you know if the bolt pattern is the same?
