51 chevy seats

Can anyone tell me what I can use for seat in a 1951 chevy skyline coupe, other then the original seats. I know the 49-52 differ from the 53,54. I think the 53,54 rear seat is at a slant. I have the seats that go in the 51, but it's going to cost to much upholster. I was hoping I could just pull some from a junk yard. I would like to use a split bench for the front and a bench for the rear.

If no one is able to give you an direct experience reply you wil have to get out the tape measure, measure you seats and then hit the junk yards. A good place to start looking would be the mid size cars from the 80's and 90's - you might even find some leather ones.

go to www.ezboyrodinteriors.com for upolstery. got all my seat covers from them, custom fitted for my '51 Chevy seats and there compleatly customized to my liking, they have many things that can be changed, you just have to ask. it's DIY install but they give you instructions. I got a compleate interior for my '51 Chevy Fleetline 4dr except carpet for $1,400 shipped, and it is excelent quality. got it in standard vinyl.

88-98 full size chevy, cut a bit off the sides, s10/ranger/dakota

or if you want buckets, look for 90s regal/grandprix,etc. seats almost bolt in perfect.

Early Elcamino Seats Fits my 52 Like a Glove.

Not wanting to spend $$$ for trick buckets I went to the local pick and pull and picked up a early 70's elcamino bench.... fold down middle arm rest and the sides fold forward and in to allow easy entry to the back seat.... all for $25. The width was perfect and only minor modification to the mounts are needed. Although IAM still in search of a back seat... any Ideas.

I'd use the original back seat. the '51 Chevy's have a hook and loop type of atachment for the back seat bottom, and the seat bottom itself sits on the floor unlike most newer cars where the floor is raised up, which would cause problems for you. plus it's the exact size you need, I could understand the front seat being more to professionally cover as it is a bit elaborate in the seat back but the rear seat is simple and basic.
