51 Ford F-1 springs - teflon liner or button sliders?

Okay folks...whats the best way to go with refurbishing leaf springs? I'm rebuilding the font end of my 51 Ford F-1 pickup and I plan to install some reverse eye main leaves and probably take out every other leaf (these old Fords were WAY oversprung) and I'd like to put it back with either the teflon or poly spring liner or slider buttons. Most of the new cars with leaf springs use the slider buttons - most guys I know with hot rods have used the liner with the small lip on the sides. What do you folks recommend? Why is one better than the other and how would you advise me? Thanks in advance all help is appreciated!

I have done both. The liner strip is easier to install. Most of the button stuff I've used requires drilling a hole in the leaf near the end of the spring. I've always thought this would invite cracking. Tho, so far I haven't had that problem. The buttons look neater.
