51 ford water pump replacement

Lost the right side water pump on our 51 ford tudor. I guess this is a basic question but...when I put the new pump on with the gasket do I also use the RTV gasket sealer?

What is the best way to install?

use

Use a bit cause you dont want a leak.Opinions differ but some of us can remember the smell of permatex shellack,Only under hypnoses though.
