'52 for F2 p/u trans swap to a T5

buying a '52 ford F2 p/u.. has orig trans that non syncro.. i see a swap can be done with the T5 5spd OD manual, but it talking about a world trans and a non world trans.. i don't see what the difference is. i want to stay ford trans.. i'm also thinking of converting it to a ford AOD also..

non world class transmissions use needle bearings; world class uses a tapered bearing setup. World Class also has needle bearings under the gears. Non world class and world class use different rings as well. Theres more than that, but those are the majors. If you know enough about these, you can mix and match some parts. Under 300ft pounds of torque in a street truck, it doesn't matter which one really in that regard. You should be more concerned with what ratios you're getting and which tailhousing puts the shifter in the proper location for you. One of the best T5 guys on the planet is Dave Reed. He's on HR.com as Reed0380; I'll see if I can get him to swing by here and give you some rebuilder advice on things to look for and what setup fits your needs best

the old trucks are new to me..

so i guess i'll be asking alot of dumb questions.. Tbuckets are a different story..
#1 looking at speedway they have bell housings for the T5.. i'm getting conflicting info.. does chebby AND ford make a t5 ???
and since i've never sat in this tk i might lean to a AOD.. i'm 6'2" and leg room might be an issue...
#2 it has the factory 6v and i believe its a +ground. would i be able to rewire the factory gages for a neg ground.. i'd be doing a 12v system and i'd use a resistor to drop voltage.. or would i need to just replace the gages for use on a 12v system ??? if the gages are naturally grounded then rewirng is out..

The T5 was made by Borg Warner; and sold to both GM and Ford, amongst several asian car companies over the years. Its still being produced in some variations.
