'53 Buick/LT1 swap?

As I mentioned in my intro, I'm still learning so forgive me if this has been addressed somewhere else (I did search).

For a variety of reasons, we're wanting to swap an LT1 into a '53 Buick. My thought is the '53 Buick Special can't be too much different from a Chevy of similar vintage, correct? And if so, haven't there been a thousand SBCs stuck in early 50s Chevys? Following my twisted logic, wouldn't this be similar (and therefore a road well-traveled) and somewhat simple to do?

Any advice, suggestions on compatible/neccesary parts, etc. are appreciated!

in the 50's a buick was a buick, a chevy was a chevy, and an olds, was an olds.
I like the LT1 idea but i think there will be a decent amount of difference between a 50's buick and a 50's chevy
I don't think it isn't anything the guys on here can't help you with

P.S. get me some pics of that buick

If you haven't done any or many engine swaps before, it will be to your advantage to do some reading. These books will cover the multitude of details that we might overlook on this board.

Thanks for the links. I really love the non-judgmental attitudes on this board (unlike some others). Suggestions, tips, and advice, without the harsh criticisms.

Just today I received my copy of Mike Knell's "Chevrolet TPI & TBI Engine Swapping". Looks like I have a lot of reading to do!
