He's correct, my book says the Roadmaster had a 70 series engine- 322ci-188hp. It also says you move the rear axle back instead of removing the engine. One tip it gives is, you remove the bell housing dowel bolt located on the right side to the rear of starting motor solenoid. Use a offset brass drift. This bolt cannot be removed from under the car. Hope this helps. Sounds like a lot of fun!!

i need to know where i can find out about / find parts for a 53 roadmaster. an oldtimer came in our shop wanting to know if i could seal up his tranny and his manual says you have to pull the engine to get to the trans. he also asked about motor mounts lever shocks- leaky? i told him i would ask here, and see what i could find. he said it has a 70 series engine and an auto trans, i think. Get a Hemmings Moter news from the news stand. Hemmings has lots of services offered ads for parts etc. Greenbaypartsworld.com lists a Buick such as years for engine kits. so i figured i could help the guy and learn something at the same time. thanks. josh!

[ September 11, 2002: Message edited by: Duner Wi ] [ September 11, 2002: Message edited by: Duner Wi ]
|

Try going through the hood release spring, using a #12, left hand, reverse grip, double slotted lug wrench. >:}~
