I was wandering what you guys with this style box are doing for replacements mine has been so messed up its beyond repair that I can do. I should be able to save my fenders but the box is way past anything I could ever do. any info would be greatly appreciated.

I understood what you were talking.

Many resto catalogs offer repro boxes. Do a web search for the name Bruce Hornkey, based out of MINN. He builds wood floors for ole trucks and also sells repro boxes.
A short box chevy runs around 350-400 bucks per side. A longbed runs around 500 bucks.

Mar-k is another one sells boxes. Brothers, Jim carter, Golden state pickup parts, heavy chevy, chevys of the 40's etc.

The fit and finish is great on these things. Got one on my 3/4 ton 49 chevy.

In 1998 I purchased a bed for my '48 Chevy 1/2 ton from Mack Pro after I had toured their facility. They were nice folks and seemed to have a quality product. The package arrived with no assembly instructions ( I called they didn't have any) and a number of the holes (bed front to lower cross member, bed front to bed side, fender, cross sills under floor) had to be drilled. It seems Mar-K includes assembly instructions (remember seeing them on their web site) and I believe the holes referenced earlier are punched by Mar-K. Something to consider while doing research.
