53 chrysler

so I just got a 53 new Yorker 2dr no motor or trans any suggestions on what would fit

53 new yorker

well I have a 360 /727 auto combo was wondering what all was involved in this swap? motor mounts , firewall? any info would be helpfull

in 53 the only motors that were in there were hemi's. most likely a 331, all the early hemi's were big blocks of there own kind. plus the trannys were two speeds with enclosed driveshafts and two piece axles. there is a lot that can be done here with the rite amount of money. so do some research and good luck

thanks for the insight does anyone know of a mount kit that would fit a 360 in this car?

You won't find any "kits". Just get the 360 mounts and bolt em in. You're going to have to work and get your hands dirty. You can't restore a car with kits. If you want to install kits then buy a honda civic. Other wise you better do you research and get the parts you need cause no one is gonna sell you everything at once.

Well thanks for info. And I don't mind gettin dirty and yes their is a kit ... but I'm going to put a 251spitfire flat 6 with a t-5 behind it..........

Op, i think this is one of those cars that you just have to restore to original condition. It's such an awesome car it would be a shame to alter it. Only thing is you will have a hell of a time finding a 331 hemi, so you may have to use a different powertrain
Do you have any pictures of the car as it is? Early 50's cars just have such an awesome classy look, i would love to have one if i could. You really have a cool project.
