53 Ford Pu Engine Value

My mother has a 53 (I think) pickup truck that my dad bought probably about 1960. The body is scrap but it has an engine and 3 speed trans and has been sitting about 35 years. The engine has been covered by the hood the whole time but I'm sure it's locked up. The truck was originally an automatic. Would I be better off scrapping the whole truck or try to sell the motor seperately for her. Even if she doesn't get a lot of money out of it I'd rather see somebody buy it to use rather than it being scrapped.

Danny

If it,s the engine that came in it.It should be a flathead or ohv six 215.I don,t think the six is worth much. Could you get some pictures?

It is a flathead 8. I'll be going down there soon and will try to get some pictures.
