'53 Ford rearend info HELP!

im new at this (i just sighed up) and i work on/have a few rodz but the one in question right now is a '53 ford sled that i need to find a rearend that will swap in with relative ease. the issueisas a stock flattie and a 3spd. the problem is the price of gas. i need to know what rearend will swap in and what from with the highest ratio possible. i have the same issue with mt '57 and '51 also, but i want to keep the '53 all ford, if it was a Chevy i would swap in a nova like on my '50 but im not that knowledgeable on the fords. i anyone has any info please drop me a line at [EMAIL=yelton57@hotmail.com]

I want to WELCOME YOU HERE ...
A lot of folks use the early 70's V8 Maverick rear end ...
5 lugs wheels, a 2.79 ratio is real common and the width is about right . It also keeps the Ford ... ALL FORD ..

Deuce ...

I have a mid 70s maverick 8 inch in my 55 sunliner and it bolted in and the original emergency brake cables will fit. Jeff

I forgot that the center section from up to 56 will bolt in back to 49,the 51 automatic has a 3.31 ratio and the 55 or 56 could have a better ratio. Jeff
