53 pickup heater question

Does anyone have a diagram of how the heater valve hooks up in a 53 chevy pickup I have the heater box and i'm trying to get the valve but I need to see how it all goes together before I start changing the dash around thanks Jim

As best that I remember...the heater valve goes in the incoming water line to the heater core...it simply cuts the water on and off. The valve is actuated by a cable.

The heater in my 51 five window didn't have a shut off valve. In the summer I just disconnected the hoses to the heater so it wouldn't work. In the winter it was always on. To control the heat I just used the doors on the heater.
