What is the complete casting number? file the top of the numbers to see them more clearly.
Most of the old 283 and 327 2bbl heads had very small valves. All lack engine accessory bolt holes on the ends and hardened exhaust seats for unleaded fuel.

Look up the casting number here www.mortec.com
measure the intake valve diameter.
1.72" = low perf.

Stroke: Most of the Pontiac cars sold in Canada in the 60's had Chevrolet drivetrains in them. The Pontiac V8 (Blue) motor was not made or installed here.
If you found a Pontiac here with the blue pontiac V8 motor its was imported from the US.
Our Pontiacs even came with 396-427 and 454 Big block chev motors.

Duh, didn't pay attention to the locale. Buddy of mine has a '69 'Chevelle', really a 300 Deluxe. SS package, with a new 468 (13:1,.714 solid roller, R Ports w/Victor R Port, Dominator, Coan trans/converter and a 9"). Metallic Blue (new) and s-w-e-e-t. Car has run 10.5x @ 125. Not chopped up, no cage.
