I have a 1954 Chevy pick up and am in the process of restoring it. Want to keep it all original, as it is really bone stock. Any opinions or thoughts? She is a beauty, three on the tree, w/the old stove bolt 235. She needs a little TLC but will clean up easy. It had a old SEARS 216 motor in it that was pretty well smoked. Although I drove it home, I think I killed every mosquito in Macomb county,MI.

You probably want to go to the Stovebolt forum with "stock" questions. But since you asked for opinions/thoughts, and seeing how this IS a hotrodders forum, I say: yank that old drivetrain out and drop a SBC into it, toss the stock suspension and install an IFS kit, and drop that thing into the weeds!
