54 Chevy PU front cap and grille
Does anyone know if Chevy's 53 and 54 pickup fenders and hood are the same?
I have a 54 5 window Chevy that has a 53 front grille. I would like to put the original 54 grille on, but am not sure if I will need to change the fenders and/or hood in order for the 54 grille to fit proper.

I believe that the fenders are a little different at the grille opening.I do not know if the grilles are interchangable without changing your fenders. Hvae you ever seen one done with fleetline grillle bars, Looks good in my opinion.

54 fenders
The front fenders on the 54' and first series 55' Chevy pickups are completely different in the grill area. The grill opening may be the same dimensions as the earlier models, but the area where the parking lights mount is recessed and flat. The parking lights are also part of the 54'/55' grill.
