54 Chevy rear

Couple of questions about the rearend in my 54 chevy. First of all...what is the gear ratio on the stock rearend? Second...what is the hub to hub measurement?

I'm hoping to get the 54 driveable this Spring but don't have a ton of money to pump into it right now. Would eventually like to swap to an open rear and will be looking for a good rearend to fit it. Can't get to it right now to measure it myself and thought I would ask the experts here. And as I plan to drive it was just wondering if the gears would hold up to some freeway speeds from time to time. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know the cars with a manual transmission had 4.11 gears and the Powerglide cars had a 3.55 gear.

I'm pretty sure the 53 and 54 manual shift cars went with 3.70; they were 4.11 prior to then. ChevyTalk.Org will get you the best answer in their 49-54 forum. Butch/junior stocker.
