54 Ford paint colors

I need some help with paint colors on a 54 Ford Customline , I have to paint it the original color(s) and there is no real good reference anywhere , the paint# on the cowl tag says 73 but I cannot cross that anywhere , can any of the Ford guys here give me a tip as to where I can get some good info?

Thanks eric302 , but that doesnt seem to help. This car clearly has PAINT-73 on the cowl tag as well as TRIM-CA , this car was originally purchased by the grandfather of the guy I am doing it for , it is all original but when the other brother inherited the car he had it painted some wierd colors so I am trying to get it back to original , the roof was a green and the rest of the car was some sort of beige , but when looking at the chips from that site I have a possible 2 choices for each color but nothinmg using the #73 I have , its starting to piss me off , these old fords are hard to get info for .

'54 Ford

Stop by www.1954ford.com maybe one of the guys can help. I have a Ford Parts and Illustrations Manual on CD,I checked it, you are reading the wrong code.Look at the vin tag again the top line is the Vin #,the line underneath is the ID codes the first code on the left or the 73= 4 door sedan, the color code is the next one to the right and is a letter only, the next is the trim code, check it again and I can break the codes for you so send me a pm.

If no one has an older paint book with the paint codes, then check out this site. this may be of some help http://www.lovefords.org/contact/vr.htm
I did do a search on the main site for the 1954 as they show some owners cars with paint codes, but not for what you list. And it looks like a difference between '54 and '55 and also a difference between Ford and Mercury. Not the code itself but the way some of the members listed them.
