54 powerglide
I have a friend who is putting a 283 in his 54 chevy. He wants to keep the old torque tube rear end, as it was just rebuilt, so he needs to find a kit or adapter to bolt his old powerglide to the 283. Anyone know where he can find this adapter. Any help would be great.

No ... but there was a kit made for this.
 I saw one on eBay awhile back.

all that should be nessasary is the bell housing adaptor ring for a V8 poweglide, I think anyway. if not, I know my friend had an adaptor custom made by a company in Washington, to adapt a '55 235 to a 700 R4 trans, for his '29 Model A

Powerglide adapter, used by GM in the late-'50s & early '60s on V-8 cars with PG's.
