Hey Guys, If your not using your stock chains on your tailgates , what are you using to keep your tailgate closed ? I'm looking for trick ideas for inside the bed or hidden tailgate latches.

Gene, I'm pretty sure I've seen some similar through other sources and have even seen the installation instructions for doing the slotted holes. I just can't remember where? If you go to the thread where sir-x-loin was having brake problems. Check out the links I supplied, I think there was another source, maybe Classic Truck. Nolan
Oh, if you take the chains off, how are you going to keep the tailgate off the bumper?

I got some folding arms off an Isuzu pickup (i think thats how you spell it) in a wreaking yard and modified my tailgate so they fold open and close when the gate is opened and closed.
I gott'a figure out how to post pics on this forum.

I've developed a bad habit of calling them ZUZU'S, Man, I wish you could get up to speed on the picture posting too. You've done lots of modifications on these trucks that all the 55-59 gang would be scarfing up on like rice and gravy and a picture tells a thousand words. I would not mind getting rid of my chains if I could just drill and bolt on some arms. Mines already painted, as far as welding any brackets or such. Nolan

Classic Industries has some interesting latches and straps for tailgates but a little pricey 189.99. I have also seen alot of people use seat belt latches.

57 halfton I use pixresizer to resize my pictures before posting them.Just Google it and down load it for free.Load the pictures from your camera or Disk to your desktop.Select your picture, click on apply recommended, click on save. After I resize the pictures I save them to my desktop to make them easier to find. After you type your message,to post the pictures just scroll down to manage attachments then click browse, click on desktop, scroll down and click on the pictures you want to load .After selecting the pictures click on upload and it adds them to your post.I am not real good on the computer but this is how I get it done
