Pics

Gene, Is it telling you the picture is too big? What I finally figured out is when you attach a picture, you can't preview it. I doesn't show up till after you hit submit reply. I was thinking it didn't work because I didn't see it in the preview post. Keep trying, I for one, and many others are looking forward to them. Nolan

The air filter is the inner filter from a Caterpillar D10R (I used to do services on heavy equipment). The rear shocks are mounted in front of the axle housing, you can see the lower mount next to the axle 4bar mount.
I have more pics of my pickup and other toys but I have to resize them.

plastic bed wood

i decided i didn't want wood in my bed
looked at doing corian and other options
decided on trex plastic decking
gray boards match my interior

they only come in 6x5/4 (5.25x1 actual)
with the full 1 inch thickness
i recessed them below the deck
to keep from scratching my painted strips

since trex is only 5.25 wide
added 1 board and 1 strip to the mix
center board is 4.75 wide
will post more as i progress

Thats a good looking truck Gene. Glad to see you've figured out how to post pictures.

I like the bed Ogre. I was wondering about using trex, hadn't made it down to the lumber yard yet to check it out.

Update on the truck

I've spent a lot of time sanding and priming my fenders. I finally painted the passenger side and installed it. Now I have to adjust the door so the fender can fit correctly. The door is too far forward. And I have to continue working on the drivers fender to get it ready.
I don't like these bumper guards too much. They seem to point towards the ground. I'm guessing they're off a 55-56, they have the bolt holes for a cross bar. I need to buy a pair for a 57.
