97ss; i found these pics in my archives:
raw hole


cleanup around the area


cut patch. very simple shape. i did conture it some, but even a flat patch this size would have minimal filler over it.


finish weld. i use flux core wire so all my welds need grinding and some filler


you can see i had the frame done, except under the cab.
the date on these pics is march 2002. you've come a long way baby...

have the sheetmetal together again.
took longer to get the spare tire mount on than the rest of the sheetmetal

Unique Design

Hey Ogre, It came out real cool, definitely unique. Did you use welting on the fenders? Its kind of hard to tell in the photos. I need to get an OEM assembly manual to determine all the welting, weather striping, gaskets, etc. that my truck is missing. Cool build Man. Nolan

got the bed on today. gas filler neck fabricated. bed wood is in.
need lightsand the trunk latch in/wired to get it on the road.



yes, i used welt on the fenders. i don't think the welt is stock, i think cork was stock. a
nd thanks for all the kudos guys. 9 yrs in the making, 13 since it was last on the road.
this was my driver/work truck from 85 to 95

ogre it is beautiful.I bet it will take a while before you can get yourself to leave it in a parking lot long enough to go into a store

I haven't read everything here yet and I know this is a old topic but that price is to funny. You can go to Home Depot and buy them for less than 20 bucks a set. Chrome,Brass or Stainless They bolt on with some screws and drill a small hole WALLA your done.

dd your not the first one to say that. but i have beat you to it, i leave it everywhere. i'm a gimp with a hang tag so i get to park up front in those super wide blue spots.

this is a driver no garage or trailer queen.

Those wedding pics are so cool If only you had some of the origenal truck when it was new and another couple getting married ....like gram and gramp...
Theres another mamber "atichargr" that had a wedding date he was tring to finish up for ...it was a 29 Man that one came out great too....he has some vidios of them driving off in it....
You did a great job ogre....
