Hey ogre its nice to met you. Yes that is a 3rd brake light. The lens can be sanded flush with the body and polished. Here is what the outside looks like. I also smoothed the inside and will make a cover.

I know that picture, in that picture it looks like it's sitting low, but the bags were a little deflated. It sits higher at ride height.

Its good to have friends who are machinist. Man there is nothing to be bummed about your truck is on the road, mine will not be there for a while, but I've having fun. I've done so much work on this truck I just want to see it on the road before I die.lol You can check out the complete build here if you would like. I warn you its extensive.lol

Thanks man, I just looked at your gallery and you do nice work. I wish I had that English Wheel. The dash is one of my favorite mods also but it opened a can of worms.lol Steering column placement and steering linkage and such. But hey that's what happens when you stray from stock. But that's also why I stray from stock to have something a little different.

Hey Mkabwe, that is a very cool truck. The 55 Chevy grill is my all-time favorite. I've always had to fight the urge to ditch all my GMC parts and go that direction myself. I think the way you finished the bed rail ends is my favorite. Thanks for the inspiration to get back to work on my truck.

That's funny, today I was just looking at your journal and was wondering how to comment that I like your work. I noticed you shorten your rearend and mini tub also sweet. I also shorten my 8.5 to 58 inches mounting point to mounting point because I plan on running 18x12's in the rear if my funding is right.lol I like the GMC's and if I had one I may have kept it that way because you don't see too many of them. Anyway thanks for the comments on my bed rails and the truck in general hopefully when its done it will be different but tasteful.
Here are some pic my buddy's 56 GMC. I thought you may like to see it since you don't see too many jimmy's

Thanks for the pics of your friends 56 Jimmy, Mkabwe. I like it a lot. Love that louvered hood. The one reason I kept my GMC a GMC is because it was complete, unique, and in reasonably good shape. I've been debating whether to buy the repop GMC Bumper Guards to match my repop bumper. Staring at your friends 56 reinforces that they need the guards to look complete.
Yesterday I was browsing through the pics of your build while we had friends over. With the distractions of people yapping in my ear, I missed the whole page of your frame build. I went back through it today and am impressed once again. That is one cool truck, and you do good work.

Hey ShadetreeTim,

I'm glad you like my buddy's jimmy. I will forward what you've said to him he would like the hear it. Thanks again for your comments about my build. I don't know when I will be done, but I will keep chipping away at it. I been putting all my attention in the engine mods now so its not much picture taking and things like that. Just researching and collecting parts.
