Thanks ogre, that drip rail will be my first examination and then I'll check the rest of the potential rust areas. If I end up with this Ride, the first thing on the menu is to check the compression and then "more than likely" pull the engine out and go thru it from top to bottom. My dream is to have a sleeper that appears stock but has some goodies under the hood - - - and by no means a Street Rod, just a good running Ride. Thanks again

I have thought about upgrading the original suspension on my 57 chevy and had some great info sent to me regarding it.
My mind has been changed to install an independent front suspension, i have heard that the mid 70's camaro is a great front clip to install. Is there any other car that is compatible or will work out very well for this modification? Thank You Michael

read thru all 2000+ posts in this thread and you will have a very good idea of what everyone here thinks. my personal thought is there is no good donor car clip. it's a lot more work and time, plus you still have a 30 yr old car front end to rebuild when you get done. by the time you add everything up not much money save either. look at the mustang II cross members available on the market. my 58 has a fatman must II xmember and i am very pleased with it.

Custom grill
Does anyone have any pics of custom grills for 58-59? I think I want to do something custom and not stock on mine. I just want to see what looks good.

i've seen a few but they didn't look right. mine is the original chrome, but i've seen body color grills that looks really nice. my chrome turn bezels were pitted. i sand blasted them and used body color on them put some color on it and see if you like it.
