Can anybody tell me what each wire is for? Thanks for the Power Filter advice, DD. I will get one ordered. By the way, cool truck rayzr!

Matt here is the column wiring you asked for.The single wire is the horn.It goes to the horn relay. The horn button is the ground for the horn relay. The wires from the turn signal switch should be WHITE-PURPLE-PINK-BLUE-YELLOW-LIGHT BLUE.The WHITE wire is power(in) from the brake light switch when you apply the brake. The PURPLE is (out)to the right rear turn signal (also brake light when the brake is applied). The PINK wire is (out) to the left rear turn signal (also brake light when brake is applied). The BLUE wire is (out) to the front right turn signal (No brake light). The Yellow wire is power (in) from a keyed power source(only hot when the key is in the on position). The LIGHT BLUE wire is (out) to the front left turn signal (no brake light).Let me know if you need any thing else.

Sorry I didn't get back to you so we could have gotten together at the show. I decided to go at the last minute Sunday morning.
Did you make it out there?

igotachevyor2 You got a nice start on your 58.You have the get up and go handled now you need front disk brakes to stop and front and rear sway bars to keep you in the drivers seat on those left turns.Traction bars help put the power to the ground.I ran a 15.20 on fathers day before the transmission surrendered the blue 66 Nova only ran a 14.85 Have fun with your 58 and keep driving it.Keep us posted on your progress and thanks for posting those pictures

Yes, happy birthday, DD! Thanks again for the wiring info. Saves me a ton of trial and error time. Haven't had much time to work on the truck during the last few days. I tried starting the engine, it turned over well but wouldn't start. I probably didn't put the distributor in correctly. That's what happens when you try to do two things at once, I suppose. I will try to redo that later today.

Camaro Front Clip on a 56 Chevy Truck

I have a friend who used a Camaro on his 56 truck. It came with disc brakes and worked out well. You can then order headers for that year Camaro and they will fit perfectly.
I have a 56 Chevy 3/4 ton short step side with a 283 SBC, Vintage AC, tilt steering from a Cadillac, Chevy granny 4 speed, Ford F150 front clip and Ford 9" rear end. It's painted Chevy Victory Red. Although it turns heads it's a driver and not really for show.
Future plans include switching to 1/2 ton springs I already have, Borg Warner Super T10 and 383 crate motor.
I have an extra front grill and head light bezels in great shape (panted red) and I will have a GM granny 4 speed when I do the swap. Also lots of SBC
engine parts. All for sale.

Just an update...it's alive! I got the truck fired up just a little while ago. Made my day; it's been a long time since I heard it run. I can tell it starts and runs better already. I had the distributor hooked up to the wrong side of the resistor, for one thing. It rained a lot around here today and it's supposed to tomorrow as well, so I should have some more time to work on the lights tomorrow. Man, I needed this burst of motivation! I'm looking forward to putting my money into something else on this truck. I don't know what yet, but I'll be glad when I'm done wiring it.
