55 Chevy

Hey, guys and gals, Been out of cars for the past 20 years got the itch again can't seem to shake it, but the kids are older and believe it or not into cars specifically cammed out street cars. Things have changed alot especially prices of cars I was buying for no more than 1k for a 90% muscle car or even 55-57 chevy's . Anyway buying a real nice big block 55 for a old man and old time street guy himself, had car 25 years+ real clean needs interior finished. has the original back seat so I and two buckets in the front out of a 65 or 66 GTO or 442, they need to go. I will be looking for interior parts as soon as get this car back home. If anybody knows where I can get door panels and a bench front seat let me know Thanks Mike

re: 55 Chevy

I just thought of another old boy that is up in your neck-o-the-woods at Baldwin, N.Y.

I've ordered parts from him before with great success and complete satisfaction.
Here is his website: http://www.chevychevy.com/

55

Well I picked it up yesterday, In Illinois. What a drive but well worth it, Car was owned for 27 years, Old drag car that was never cut up, As a matter of fact the only rust I found was in the usual spots, 3 floor braces and the inner rockers both sides thats it. Car was painted 15 years ago in two tone red and whit the original colors, looks totally stock but far from it has a 30 over 454 intake usual stuff, but the engine looks all stock orange valve covers etc. Had custom made mounts made along with headers 20 years ago before theuy even started really putting big blocks in not the old kit you used to buy which I did on my first 55, This is a quality set up not banging the firewall for the valve covers, Disc brakes, 12 bolt with strange axles and a moroso carrier 4:10's, and a richmond 6 speed tranny. This car is quite a sleeper, all belair trim put on, car was an original belair with a 265 cu in it. Rims painted red as car old style vette rims with just center cap.Radiator griffin alum. I found this car on an off the wall classified web called up and I was the only one that did 0n the 29 day of a 30 listing. Had him send pictures of evry piece of the car before I drove out there, Car was beautiful. Gentleman was 60 years old he onwed the car and he did all the work, old time hot rodder. Anyway, dash was completely redone, and it was never hacked up, old stewart warner gauges on the bottom only give away the car has something is the Autometer with tell tale and rev limiter box. The thing is quite sneaky, New carpet, old stlye red buckets nice shape, rear seat original needs covers and the door panels, when he bought the car it was empty. Any way I am looking for a bench to but back in it and covers, Interior will be red. Thanks For all the help, will get some pictures up. Mike/ I won't say what I paid but lets say if you seek you shall find this was bascially a car that was built and sat in a garage in Illinois for 20+ years, what to the call this now a barn find. Yes it was in the middle of nowhere and it was 17 hours each way and yes I am ready to collapse.
