Hi: we are wanting to know if there is a different steering gear. that we can put on our 1955 Chevy DelRay, that will fit it without any changes? Our stock steering gear box has a leak, and it is not power steering.Any information would be helpful. Also would like to know if there is a tilt steering column that I can put in this car that will fit, that is out of another car? Thanks.

A stock 55-57 stearing box will bolt up. You can also get the rebuild parts and seals from Danchuk.
or you can install a power 605 stearing box conversion. I know of no stock column that is an easy direct install but an I did it steel column can be had and will fit like stock. Good Luck |

I just rebuilt and upgraded the front end on my 57 chevy and also installed Danchuk's poor man's power steering (cost $65 or $85). Results were very good, much easier steering. Bud
