55 chevy disc brake set up?

am getting ready to install power disc brakes on my 55 chevy. where is the best place to get the kit or just the brake plates cheap? also i know i can use 69 camaro rotors and late model chevy calibers, what is the best size rubber line to use and can i still use inner and outer bearings for the camaro rotors or no? 1 more thing i would like to know, what all else is recommended to replace when doing a drum to disc change over? any help would be great! thanks alot Dave

I've got a 56 210 2 door. Just ordered parts from East Coast Chevy yesterday. One of the parts I ordered was a front disc power brake kit. I think that it was around $600. Comes with hubs, rotors, calipers, pads, lines, master cylinder, booster etc....... I've been saving up and had about $2300 order. 10% discount up to $1200 and then 15% discount plus items on sale dropped it to $1800.

Tri 5 Disk Brakes

For stock spindles you need caliper brackets which are available lots of places. Speedway Motors and Ebay for example. The rest of the parts are standard OEM parts:

ROTORS
68-72 Chevelle or GM Equivalent

CALIPERS
79-86 Malibu or GM Equivalent (80's S10 Truck/Blazer, etc.)

BEARINGS & SEALS
A-6 Inner bearings
A-2 Outer bearings
7934S Grease seals

I have been researching the same thing for my '55 and found the info in the
1955-1957 ( Modified / pro street / show) bulletin board at ChevyTalk.com.

I reject your reality and substitute my own.
