55 Chevy Interchanges With What Other?

I own a 55 chev 2 door hardtop. Which car interchanges for disk brakes, tilt wheel, and power steering?

Tri-fives all use 72 Chevelle front disc components. You do need a custom bracket for the caliper though. I've never needed tilt or power steering. I read a neat article a while back about replacing the idler arm and pitman arm bushings with roller bearings though. That seems like a really good idea. My druthers lay towards rack and pinion though. I know that there are several late 80's gm cars (like cutlas ciera, buick regal that sort of thing) that use a rear steer rack and are almost the exact width I need. There are articles on the internet regarding this. I am not going to do this on my two door, but I will do it on my four door and I suspect I'll just use an Ididit steering wheel setup. Once thats done I'll worry about bolting up a power steering pump.

They wils accept most hardware from teh 68-72 GM A body cars, Chevelle, Monte Carlo, Skylark etc. They make a couple of sets of adaptor brackets- a one piece or a two piece. Places such as Danchuk, Ralph Roberts and Classic Chevy handle these brackets.
Tilt columns out of mid 70's GM van work well because the key switch is not in the column. Places like Ididit or Flaming River handle direct bolt in columns. I run A Chrome Ididit in my 55.
The 605 p/s box is found in mid 80's malibus I think and can be adapted to the tilt column with GM pump.
