I want to rebuild my 1955 (2nd series 3600)chevy truck with newer drive train.

frame swap

It all depends, how close are all the measurements and frame contour. I put a 48 jeepster on a Jeep Fc pug nose 4 X 4 with a chevy engine, That was easy, Kind of. the frame shapes were the same, the truck frame was longer in the front and back. , just 2 new body mount front brackets and a swap to a GM powere steering gear box. Later a swap of the Jeepster body to a chevy blazer chassis . That was A LOT of Work, we had to move the engine back 8 inches, new drive shafts, clutch and brake pedal relocation, neither gas tank fit, had to modify the floor, new shock mount crossmember etc. Always try to find one someone has done first to see how easy it would be. Mabe check out one of the chevy 4 X 4 truck forums,
google is your friend
