55 Chevy truck, help ID this rearend
Hello all, I have read through many of these forums and there are some smart people in here that really know their stuff. Lets see if anyone can assist me please. I have a 55 Chevy Truck and the rear end has the following information on it...GM22 1249518 (N) B02567. I have searched and searched and cant find any information to tell me what this rearend is. Thank you in advance for all help.

That is the 8.5 GM corporate 10 bolt. There will be a code stamped into the right axle tube on the front side that will give you more information.

That code is likely covered with junk-it lies on usually upper pass side of axle tube.
