55 chevy truck to restore

I have recently purchased an oldie but goodie and ned some advice from some one that knows old cars/trucks. I am 48 yrs old and this is my first time I have had any experience with an older modile vehichle and really want to make it look good. I have a question if there is someone that will give me some logical addvise? I need to know what frame will fit including the disc brakes that will fit this model of truck again it is a 55 Chevy apache truck your advice will be appreciated.

If this is your first whack at restoring/rodding an older vehicle keep it simple so that you don't get overwhelmed with projects. Rebuild or replace engine and trans, new tires, shocks, drive it for a little while, then paint and upholstery, drive it some more. Changing frames is a huge job that a lot of people get bogged down in and the vehicle winds up sitting behind the garage. Start reading magazines dealing with classic trucks and see what you like and dislike and start going to car show and rod runs and above all else have fun..
