55 Ford to 83 Cutlass

I bought a new chrome 7# booster and master cylinder for my 55 Ford. The problem is it sits on an 83 or so cutlass frame w/the cutlass brakes and doesn't have the braking power it should. I'kinda lost as to what I should do next. Any ideas?

Your next step would be to return the brand new booster designed for a different application. And ask what booster would work with what you have.
