55 frame modification (help)

Ive been reading a lot of articles about grafting a sub frame section to the front of my 55 2nd series pick up .But all the options seem to have a different track width than my truck. 80s pick ups around 67'' mid size gm cars around 54''.
The only one that seems to be close is the older camaros at 61'' my truck is 61'' can anyone help me understand how to make the wider or shoter track width work? Or is all just rim backspace ? I like the idea of a mid 80s 2wd suburban clip but it has a track width of about six inches wider than my truck. how do i make this work. or will this wide be okay and not hit my fenders on the front.

p.s. the camaro would be great but i cant seem to find one

I would like to WELCOME YOU to Hotrodders.com

Lots of 2nd series 55 - 57 Chevrolet owners here.....I owned a 55 Cameo myself......for many years......Camaro and Firebirds share the front clip. Also look at 68 to 72 Novas. A friend of mine is using a 79 Malibu front clip.

I just used a dropped axle and some lowered springs on my 55 Cameo...and adapted a Chevrolet power steering box.....I am not a large fan of clips..... but have done a few....

Again WELCOME........
