I Just Did This

Mike, I am building a 57 pickup which I just put in Bear Claw latches. I got the big latches with the installation kit. I installed the latch on the door jam sided and the pin on the door. I got Autoloc brand stuff off of ebay for about $50.00 dollars total.

I will try to get some pics on my web site.

I hope this helps,

Tom Meyer

Tom: Thanks for the reply, but it is against the rules to advertise your web site. I removed the link to your site from your post. You can put your website in your public profile and refer people to that profile, but you can't put your web site in a post. I hope you understand.
Thanks.

Dan

Dan, I am not advertising since I am not selling anything. I am just trying provide convenient and free help to fellow rodders. With this, you can see that I don't understand.

I have my web site many other times on other posts without anyone else having an issue.

Tom I'm sorry about that. I usually click on the links that are in posts to see what they are, but I was in a hurry this morning and pulled the trigger on you too soon. I apologize. Give me your website and I'll put it back in your post. Sometimes I see evil where there is none. Once again, I'm sorry.

Dan

Mike, I just added a picture for each side of the door latch on the passener side of the truck. With the installation kit, I was able to get both side installed in about four hours. I would highly recommend getting the install kit.

The hardest part was cutting out the sheet metal. I installed the latches on the door frame side first. I used a level to get the latches close to vertical as possible. Once I had the latches tacked in place, I lined up the pin on the door side. Some use a pen in the latch to find the center line. I just got eye-balled both up/down and in/out location. There is a good bit of adjustability on the pin side. Then I tacked the outside in place. I am glad I just tacket the latches in place since I got the passenger side pn side out too far. Consequenly, I had to cut the tack welds and move the pin in a little. This proess is not very scientific but it works out pretty well.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can help anymore.

Please don't anyone get upset. I put Tom's web site back in his posts, there are no violations like it says on the bottom of the posts.
