I dont know how far you want to go but Itubbed my 57 chevy and cut the frame rails in front of spring perch and at rear cross member then swapped sides.I butted the inside of the rails which moved them in 4 inches and boxed them at a 45 angle with 1/8 plate and welded rear back to cross member in proper alienment. this gave me 8 inches more tire clearance because of the frame width and the springs being inboard.I was able to run 31x18.50s with ease. I also used 2x2 tubing to make shock mounts between frame rails.
