If no one has ever told you there are complete disk brake conversions for '55/6/7 Chevies.
Classic Chevy sells these kits as does P-S-T.com, East Coast Classics, and many other Tri-Five vendors. You can try Gene at Star City Classic Parts http://www.starcityclassicparts.net/ Or Steve Case at Case's http://caseschevyparts.com/ Or any number of people like Ralph Roberts for one of these kits. http://www.56chevy.com/ I know in the 1970s into the 1980s guys used disk brakes from full size Chevy's to put them on a '55/6/7 Chevy. One of the most popular was a brake set up from a Monte Carlo. But you have to have the rotors cut down so they fit on a Tri-Five. There's also Chevy Talk.com, the '55/6/7 Chevy boards for help doing one of these installs. If you talk with Gene or Steve Case tell them "RJ" sent ya. And almost everyone on the Chevy Talk.com '55/6/7 Chevy boards know of me. Good luck. |
