'56 F100 antenna

Not sure if this should go here or under General tech, so moderators help me out On a Ford Truck site I've been posting queries about radio antennas. My truck's mounting hole is on the passenger side of the cowl and is cut at about a 45 degree angle. The universal one that "adjust to 35 degrees" still left it cocked out more than I like. Since the ones I've found that are specific to that area on my truck are $60, I decided to look for alternatives. After opening and returning about 5 to various auto parts stores, I found one that suits my taste for my Panel truck. It is a shorter rubber one. The adjustment is on the antenna bottom and not the base mount. I've include a couple of pics for any others that have a similar situation. This antenna cost me about $19 dollars at Best Buy. It is made by Metra and is in their AntennaWorks series. The number is 44-US07R. Written on the package is Top/Side mount for 1"/25mm hole. My hole is about 1" x 1.25" and is completely covered. It's not for the purists, but hopefully gives another option to those on a quest for the lowly antenna Thanks for your time,
James

I think I'd plug that hole and get a hidden antena under the dash. Or recess the hole and go power. Just my .02.

good ideas; however, I will eventually use this mounting point for one of the "disquised" cb antennas and go with the underdash radio antenna,
thanks
