56 Plymouth CHOPTOP

Do you guys notice anything strange about this chop? Look at the c-pillars, the line doesn't flow, seems to kindof dip or something. Look at the side "glass" Looks like thin plexi to me.

Look at the front fenders, looks like they ahve been sliced and put back together. Look how the front headlights sit? Did you also notice hot the hood does not line up with the fenders well?

Am i crazy? Is this amateur work?
I was interested to buy this car if the guy would negotiate about $500

Way to much work!!!

I think it would be way too much time and work to make that thing look good..Myself I think I would look farther and find something a bit nicer..even if it was a stock 4dr that I had to modify myself..

JUst my thoughts..I will pass on this.

re: 56 Plymouth CHOPTOP

I couldn't even see the thing because the photo was so dark, at least on my end. "Amature job", possibly. It isn't very good at all, but I think that is the point. This is a "rat rod" and being "bad" is good. It is a quickie done in a weekend sort of car. Five hundred bucks, are you kidding me? It should be illegal to have so much fun for so little money.

I do have to warn you, that windshield appears to be the back glass moved to the front. If it is, that is tempered glass and not only against the vehicle code in I believe every state, it is very dangerous. This is the glass that shatters into tiny quarter inch pieces when stuck by a small stone.

Brian.

P.S. I lightened up the photo if you want to see it click on the thumbnail.

Sorry, i was not clear. The price is $5,000 but i meant if he would bring the price down to $4,500 I would proabbly take it. This care has a freshly rebuilt top end which is nice. But it needs LOTS of interior work I would say at least $1,000 just for the front end upholstery, the back seat is a whole nother story.
Ill take more pictures when i go see it for myself

I wish i could do one of these myself but i just dont think i have the metal working capabilities.

re: 56 Plymouth CHOPTOP

Riot, I don't know you, but I will bet you a crisp dollar bill you could do as good a job as that car has! My wife with help from my eight year old son could do work like is on that car!

It is not very good at all, honestly, unless you are a real rough around the edges guy, I'd pass.

Here is the test, if you havn't ridden a hard tail motorcycle across at least three state lines in the rain and snow and then slept on the ground next to it, you are not "man enough" to own and drive this car. In fact, this type of car, if you can't build it as bad as it is, you shouldn't own it. Yeah, that is the test, you can't build it you can't own it. I am not one to knock people who don't build their own car. If you aren't into it, you aren't. If you want to and can afford to lay down fifty big ones for some painted and polished fiberglass Duece roadster, that is all cool to me. But this car, it is different, you don't buy things like this, you make them.

Brian

I think it is to far screwed up to bother with. That job with the roofline is extremely amature. It looks like somthing, but that somthing ain't a good thing. It is too much of a hack job, I wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole.
