56 SBC cam lift question
Thanks for your time ahead of time everyone.
I have a 1956 265 block that is bored to a 283. I have dome top pistons, which measure about .131". I have a .490 intake and .510 exhaust on my cam. I did a clay test for clearance and there was no clay left between them. Does anybody have a idea on what size cam I should run? Tri-Five guys please help me out. My bore is a 3.875" and my stroke is 3" Thanks again! |

And you are saying you punched a 265 (3.750 bore) to a 283 (3.875 bore)? |
Thanks for the suggestion. I solved the problem. Come to find out I had the timing off between the crank and cam. oops. But yes it was a 265 the block number is 3720991 dated to 1956, as far as I know.
