57 Chev Truck.. what source has cheap body parts??
 

Got a 1957 Chevy truck today.... A FACTORY AUTOMATIC!!! Truck is dry and strong bodied but not completely straight... just wanted to see which
parts sources out there hotrod buliten board guys are using.... LMC wanted
almost $500 for a hood..... sorry....won't do that... would consider steel or
fiberglass...have been to USbodysource....
I will start looking for used stuff if I can't get my price...

ALSO.... what methods/materials/manufacturers/tools do you recomend when going down to bare metal..... truck has had a few repaints and has a cracked multi faded color patina...not an endearing patina....if you are not getting what I'm saying here... I'll make it plain..... pretty straight truck with paint that looks like Dog Doo.... ha ha...

If it makes you feel any better, used original parts are probably much better quality than repopped new parts................

If this was a 87 chevy... I'd be buying new metal... even the cheapo stuff..
.... I'm not a body man...so I'm very slow at the proccess... gonna take
alot of effort to prep this truck...dinger fixing and surface prep
