57 chevy 283 timing issue

I have a 57 chevy with a 283 and automatic transmission. The engine was running fine but the distributor hold down bolt came loose and the distributor spun. I moved the distributor to where I thought it should be but the engine will not start. What can I do to get the engine started so that I can further adjust the timing.

trial and error until it starts or use the timing light with the engine shut off.bring 1 to tdc for the power stroke, both 0s lined up and turn distributor base(ignition on) and when the light flickers you are close
