57 chevy pickup on 73 elcamino frame possible?

I have a 57 Chevy pickup sitting around. A buddies dad wants to get rid of his 73 elcamino. It runs great and I can pick it up cheap ($500). I figured I'de use it's drivetrain for the 57 eventually. (1970 500cu.in. caddy, turbo 400 and 3:42 posi rear)
The thought occurred to me last night... wondering if the 57 would fit on the elcamino frame...? First thought is it's probably too wide at the door area.... but figured I'de ask you guys. Somebody may have a clue..
Any answers appreciated.

i have no doubt that i could make it fit, if that were my only choice, but it's not
usually if you have you ask, you have doubts about your abilities and shouldn't do it

It's not really about CAN I... It's more along the lines of how funky is the swap.
I don't have the elco yet..so I can't measure anything to see what's what. I haven't a clue what the frame is like. One benefit is the wheelbase is about right on the money...116". Mainly concerned if the frame is too wide.
It just popped into my head last night, so I figured I'de ask if anybody has a clue if it's doable without a major rework.
I've put one of these bodies on a 75 truck frame without too much trouble.

Get the Camino and do some measuring....I bet its a bad fit. Another option if you wanted the disk brakes etc would be to graft the front part of the Camino frame to your 57 frame.....That way the cab and box would still fit on the 57 frame....You would just have to make up mounts for the rad cradle etc......I put a Nova clip under my 51 Ford PU ...worked well

Thanks... that was pretty much the original plan. Wasn't sure if even the front clip would work. If not... an s-10 is easy to find and works.
The 500 caddy was the main reason to pick up the elco. The whole drivetrain is good though. It was a 454 elco originally. I remember riding in the car long ago... total tire shredder.

The S10 swap is suppose to be the better & more straightforward swap. There are a couple of kits available just for your specific swap.

Much Much easier way is just use the original chassis and upgrade it to better suspension and disc brakes.....Done!
