57 CHEVY REAR*** LEAF SPRING SHACKLE MOUNTS-REMOVAL
working on a buddys car today.
application:
57 chevy belair
fabtek rear suspension w/ mono leafs.
ive been tasked to install chrysler style slider shackles.
yesterday i machined some bushings so that i can bolt up the sliders to the 2" leaf springs.
sliders only come in 2.5 and 2.75" wide leafs.
today i get to delete the what appears to be cast rear leaf spring shackle mounts. plate the rear frame and mount the sliders.
kinda dirty, kinda cruddy, i took a scraper and tried to clean em up looking for rivets.
dont seem to be any, how are these installed?
whats the best way to get them out without cutting into the frame?
appreciate any help you can give.
