Post 57 chevy REAREND dillema

after the 350 V-8 and 700r4 tranny...the original rearend did not last (<100 miles) i was in a time crunch and moving and needed it to run so i got a rearend out of a junked 86ish blazer and cut/rewelded the main spring mounts. now it's time for a real rearend. i need suggestions, opinions and shop references to purchase one. also do the rearend packages come w/ breaks? i am not rodding the chevy , but would like it to have a litle bite. Thanks for the suggestions Andrew

Wink

No matter what rear you get, the week link is going to be that 700R4. So my advice is just find a 10 bolt or 12 bolt or 9" that is the right width and go for it. Be careful when rewelding the spring perches. Be stingy with the heat, as the axle tubes can warp. If your objest is to spend money, just call Currie and open your wallet and bolt the sucker in.
