57 chevy wiper conversion

I would like to convert to wipers without the cables on a 57 chevy but don't want to spend the hundreds of bucks on the kits. Has anyone out converted their 57? Can I just find a car that has the same distance on wipers and the angles of the brackets would be the same. Raingear sells a kit but want $400. These brackets couldn't be that hard to make.
Can anyone help with this.

Trouble with 55-57 Chevys is that the wiper system is quite complicated with the cables and all. There was an optional electric system in 57, if you could find one...not likely.

You might be able to get system from another make to fit. best bet is to look around the junk yards to figure out what is similar, but electric.
