Can someone tell me if the 12 volt or 6 volt side of resistor goes to distributor?

The resistor takes 12 volts and reduces it to 9-ish volts so as not to burn up the coil and the points contacts

The resistor is wired in series with the ignition wire to the coil +. The resistor will not have an IN or OUT connection point. It's the same resistance no matter which way it's connected.
