57 Ford f100 rear spring upgrade

I'm in the middle of working on my 57 F100. As of right now i'm still working on body work, but soon i'll be on to the suspension, engine, etc. so i've been trying to get as much information ahead of time as i can.

The plan is to use a 2003 or up Crown Vic as the donor vehicle for the front suspension, rearend, brakes, and powertrain. The problem is that the rear suspension of the Crown Vic isn't something that can be easily adapted to the truck. To keep it simple i figured i would just continue to use leaf springs in the back, but i don't know if i want to keep the stock springs and just move the perches to lower the back to match the front or if i should get the springs from something else. If i get other springs i'm not sure what to get them from. I don't want to lose all of the payload capacity because I still would like to tow or haul something if needed but I would also rather not have the harsh ride of the old 50 year old springs.

What do you think i should do? Any advice on what to do? Or an easy way to build a rear suspension that doesn't rely on leaf springs and could still handle payload?

Thanks in advance,

hotrod
