Second one looks like a Yugo.

Not sure what the point of either is, but to each his own, I guess.

I suppose its a relatively inexpensive way to hone your bodywork and fabricating skills, and if you screw up, the world's out one fewer Yugo or Honda, which, IMHO, is probably a good thing...

I once saw a 57 Chevrolet built to the proportions of a 58 Impala, I'm not one for extensive modification, but I will say the restomodified 57 looked wicked like that.

check this out, I found a cooler pic of a 57... well, not really. It's missing the "Power Pak v8".
Jack Nicholas (<spell check) edition

This 57 is on 5 wheels if you count 2 on the wheelie bar.

a nice pic of a 150 coupe, I believe I have the model right? <there's also a 56 in the pic

I know what I am gonna use all of those left over car parts for now!
I don't think the '57 looks good at all, but the life-size penny racers I could cruise in.LOL!
Did anyone else notice the 4' long airhorns on the yellow Yugo? HAHA!
Later,

I've seen a 57 4 door shortened like this and done nicely, but that roof overlap looks awful to me! At least the guy attempted to blend it into a "scoop" or something. It's just a bit to short too. Another six inches and a bigger quarter window and it would look a bit nicer (with the roof dropped right!). It begs to be sectioned at least 3-4" also. Tall cars don't look so good shortened like this. Now a mid 70s to early 80s square Impala 4 door might actually take to it rather well, just leave the front door alone and move the rear wheels into the rear doors.

I like the "pocket" cars too. Now you know what to do with a small FWD car! No mechanicals to mess with in between either. Hmmm.... do the two door job to a big FWD car like a late 80s Caddy, Buick, Pontiac, etc. Now that would be interesting, and dropping 500-800 pounds should improve performance a bit.

This is not some guy trying to make a drag racer or roadracer at all.

There were many of these built from 55-57 Chevies and other cars. They're just oddities with no purpose other than to amuse. Even early V-nose VW busses, and other vans as well, were cut like this, notice the pics of the late model Hondas or whatever. It was something that started in the 60s and pretty much was over by the mid-70s. Many of these still exist in running condition. There is a short 57 wagon that I see periodically around this area in SE Houston. Another fella has a short 56 sedan around this part of town.
In the heyday of this somewhat weird modification there were probably 100s built around the nation. Please note that from my experience this one you show is the poorest job I've ever seen.

my point exactly i can usually give a "A" for effort even the guy who drives around in a station wagon with the mud grip tires light bar and the electric winch on the front
im sure the KC lights a worth more than the whole car .

this 57 is the worst ive seen in years and i just had to share it looks even worse in person
