I have a 1958 chevy belair 4dr sdn. Im trying to figure out if this was a 348 car or small block car. It has a lot of trim options(no enblems of engine size.. and it has been repainted.) It even has electric wipers which Ive never come across. The motor that was in it was a 283 power pack motor Dated 1958. The heads are 58 the "X" under the valve cover meaning..Corvette with F.I..(so im told). The last owners cant be found(3). The part that gets me is that it has 3/8 fuel lines attached to the rockers on the PS. The car also had the factory exhaust frame hangers under it. Ive read that 3/8 line was 4bbl or 2x4 or F.I.Also lines were attacted to the outside of earlier frames or rockers with the dual exhaust package. I there a was to decode the trim tag or vin to figure the engine size out?

BTW...the front end sits higher with the sm. blk in it ... almost like they were big blk springs... they dont appear to have been changed.Could this be a odd ball 4dr car with a performance package??
